I read It's Kind Of A Funny Story by Ned Vizzini a few weeks ago. I read a few other books by him and I liked his writing style, so I bought it. It was surprisingly good and very relatable. Craig, a 15-year-old kid, is admitted into a special high school for well, smart people. He experiences what I like to call "School Depression" aka you feel abnormally stressed and worthless all because of school. He goes through the ups and downs of depression and often thinks about suicide. "It's so hard to talk when you want to kill yourself" is the first line of Vizzini's novel. It really grabbed me and I couldn't put it down. It revisits the simplicity of life and the amounting pressure put on teens today. Thumbs up! Just keep in mind, it's not exactly an upbeat book in the beginning.
It sounds exactly like my kind of book.Thank you for this review.I really want to read this. :)
